The Big Five personality traits

The Big Five is the most widely studied model of personality. It describes five broad traits that together capture much of how people differ.

This is educational information, not a diagnosis. You can take the free, confidential screening.

The five domains (OCEAN)

Openness (curiosity and imagination), Conscientiousness (organisation and dependability), Extraversion (sociability and energy), Agreeableness (warmth and cooperation), and Neuroticism (sensitivity to stress and negative emotion).

Traits are dimensional, not “good” or “bad”

Everyone sits somewhere along each dimension. No end of any trait is inherently better or worse — each has strengths in different situations.

How personality relates to mood and stress

Personality is linked to wellbeing. Higher neuroticism, in particular, is associated with more symptoms of depression and anxiety, while other traits shape how people cope (Atari & Yaghoubirad, 2016; Odachi et al., 2022).

These are tendencies across groups, not predictions about any one person.

Reading your personality profile

Your profile shows where you fall on each trait relative to the response range. It is descriptive — a snapshot for reflection, not a clinical result.
